What is Your Why?
When I reflect on my “Why?” and ponder the purpose that drives me, I am reminded of the Japanese concept of Ikigai. It encompasses the intersection of what we love, what we are good at, what the world needs, and what we can be paid for. My introduction to this concept came through a brief excerpt from Ken Mogi’s insightful book, “Awakening Your Ikigai,” which prompted me to delve deeper into the subject. Purchasing the Audible version allowed me to immerse myself in its teachings during my daily commutes, offering moments of reflection and gratitude. As I listened, I found myself cherishing the presence of the individuals currently in my life and even those who have departed. The wisdom shared in the book continues to reinforce my appreciation for the value of time and the significance of meaningful relationships, guiding me towards a deeper sense of joy and fulfillment. Being an educational leader keeps me closer to my Ikigai.
